KITCHEN & BEDROOM DESIGN – LINDLEY, HUDDERSFIELD
Located in the suburb of Lindley, Huddersfield this listed coach house has been converted into the family home, a wall of glass fills the double height atrium living space with an abundance of light, highlighting the striking historic oak trusses, beams and original stonework, connecting the classic with modern. This property certainly depicts the meaning of a successful coach house conversion.
EXCELLENCE IN SPACE
Our clients attention was focussed on two main areas of the home, the kitchen and the master suite. In the kitchen our clients were seeking to achieve a space which worked perfectly with the busy schedules of their everyday life, a place which could be a dynamic family space for ours client and their 3 children. In the master bedroom our clients wanted to create an elegant interpretation on built-in wardrobes, with vaulted ceilings and large trusses, creating cabinetry with an indulgent feel, resembling that of contemporary boudoir.
In the kitchen our main focus was the island, our clients wanted a feature island which was sympathetic to the design of the house but also made a visual impact to bring the whole room to life. We created a multi-levelled island which combined two areas of an everyday kitchen, the prep area and casual dining. By combining these two aspects, we were able to create a multifunctional area, whilst saving space within the room and also providing the design aspect our clients craved. The cabinetry itself needed to fit into the existing U shaped kitchen so we handmade solid ash doors which mimicked the existing style, these were then painted in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe No. 26 and Worsted No. 284. Utilising the existing colours in the room really brought the whole space together and created a link between all aspects of the existing U shaped kitchen.
We fused all the cabinetry in the room with a classic 30mm white polished quartz, which provided a blank canvas for the preparation areas. We then linked this with a solid oak breakfast bar table, which would become an area for everyday casual dining for all the family, the oak worked perfectly and complemented the existing oak beams and staircase throughout the open plan property.
In the master suite there were two sections, his & hers, one to facilitate the requirements of the gentleman’s closet and one to take the role of the lady’s. We chose contemporary square shaker solid ash doors with visible grain highlighting the craftsmanship of the wood; we then painted the cabinetry in Farrow & Ball, Railings No.31 which brought a moody, rich essence to the room. Accessorised with decorative Cornice & plinth, this really framed the cabinetry establishing its position within the room. We brought the dedicated sections for the television and the lady’s dressing table together using a rich dark solid Wenge worktop, which again just accentuated the feel of the space and tied in perfectly with the dark wooden floor.
“The guys at Infinite turned our kitchen & bedroom into luxurious yet functional spaces which work perfectly for me, my husband and or family. We love the lavish feel that they have achieved through expert design & fine craftsmanship, everything has its own place and I couldn’t have pictured anything better for us in both spaces. A huge thank you to everyone at Infinite, we just love everyday life in our new kitchen then retreating back to the bedroom on a night! We will definitely be recommending to all our friends.”

Unique Work surfaces
Kitchen – 30mm Polar Blanc Quartz with a square edged detail to main prep area, then 40mm Solid oak breakfast bar table with pure curved edges to accentuate texture and to work in harmony with the existing oak character apparent in and around the property.
Master Suite – 40mm solid Wenge African hard wood to emphasise the luxurious feel of the project. With a deep, dark wood grain this wood worked beautifully with the chosen cabinetry colour and the surrounding space.
Kitchen – Creating a hub for the family was our main priority, prep space and added storage was the main focus for this project, creating a dynamic island which could be positioned into the existing U shape kitchen but also bring a sense of style and excitement to a room that was lacking creativity. Casual dining for all the family was a necessity and the multi-levelled island provided this perfectly. Our clients love their revived kitchen and can’t remember what life was like without the addition of the new island. It has provided a beautiful aesthetic but also a practical solution for everyday prep and storage.
Master Suite – This project devised dedicated sections for his and her, which complimented their chosen positions in the bed; making everyday life stress-free with all their amenities within arms reach.
