This beautiful, grand Victorian residence stands proud, situated just off Roundhay Park. With the commission from one of our previous clients who we had worked for previously, we were tasked with injecting new life into the simple, minimal existing kitchen that was inherited upon the purchase of the property. Knowing our client’s style, we wanted to ensure we renovated the existing kitchen to its maximum potential. Our clients wanted to achieve something that was befitting of the style and period of the house.
The original space utilised an island however on reflection of the proportions of the room an island wasn’t the best solution. So, we removed the island and introduced a bespoke new, oversized peninsula to the space providing the perfect preparation space. Clad in the exotic Verde Alpi Marble, it certainly provided the optimal focal point. We then re-sprayed the entire existing kitchen in Farrow & Ball Studio Green No. 93 which provided real depth to the space. We also introduced a new, bespoke mantle over the hob, bespoke solid walnut shelving with decorative corbels and also added Victorian cornicing to not only the cabinetry but the ceiling of the room to add real character. It is proof that you don’t always have to have a new kitchen, the space was completely transformed from its original state into one which our clients love and feel really belongs in the property.
Bespoke Features
Using this beautiful, striking green marble we post formed the peninsula top to 60mm to provide that ‘Wow’ factor.
Introducing bespoke Burr Walnut furniture to the space contrasted perfectly with the dark Farrow & Ball Studio Green colour.
We opted to incorporate elaborate Victorian cornice & skirting to all the cabinetry utilising a build-up of different moulds to create a bespoke feature within the space.
We installed a bespoke mantle with solid walnut detailing over the hob area with a personalised plaque with the family name.
