Situated just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Leeds, this beautiful new build sits perfectly within a small development of high end homes. Our clients contacted us as they wanted to renovate their current tired and bland existing downstairs office, to reflect their aesthetic and individual style. Our clients already have beautiful interior design taste, which was apparent throughout their main home. We were tasked to create an opulent, deep and calming space enriched by clever lighting, bespoke textures and detailing to create the perfect space for our clients to work. Our clients requested that we designed a multifunctional workspace which would fulfil their everyday work needs; whilst still maintaining a beautiful, serene backdrop which blended seamlessly with the decor of their home.
Although the room was small, it held interesting qualities including a large Georgian window and an angled wall, which made the design challenging and thought provoking. Taking into account all the dimensions of the space, we needed to create a scheme that proportionally worked without creating any pinch points. We used deep, dark full in-frame cabinetry painted in Little Greene Jack Black. We incorporated solid ash to ensure a prominent wood grain to really accentuate the depth of the solid wood. One unique feature was the cantilevered desk we designed which allowed working stations from both sides for both our clients. We used hidden LED lighting to illuminate the underside of the desk and the open shelving areas, to create a soft glow throughout all periods of the day. This space was transformed into the perfect working environment, one to be envied by all.
Bespoke Features
Below the bench seat, we integrated an in-frame bespoke dog bed area for our clients’ French bulldog.
SoIid brass bars were inset into the cabinetry around the TV to create a bespoke frame.
We created a floating desk which protrudes from the wall onto the drawer units with a hidden compartment under the desk for the printer.
We utilised 40mm solid full stave Wenge wood to create the desk top, bench seat and window cill.
