Alwoodley, Leeds II
View GalleryProject Information
Located in the affluent area of Alwoodley in North Leeds, this beautiful home is nestled on a sought after leafy lane, just a short walk from the Leeds famous restaurants and bars. Our clients wanted to re-design and renovate the existing kitchen and utility areas to ensure they were practical and more ergonomic, not only to optimise storage capacity, but to work harmoniously with their everyday family life. The design was to include handmade, classic in-frame cabinetry, with a contemporary twist. One of the main goals was to be able to seat 6 people comfortably in the space, whilst not intruding into the circulation spaces around the main kitchen.
We designed an intricate scheme in close partnership with our clients to ensure we achieved all their goals whilst adding our own unique elements. We linked the kitchen and the utility utilising the same cabinetry throughout, making it an extension rather than a separate room. Circulation was key and we wanted to create a space where the main chef didn’t need to be disturbed. So, we designed the main cooking preparation and wet zones in one section, then on the other side we had the cool zone, the breakfast pantry along with a secondary overflow wet zone which could service the dining area, meaning no interference. The bespoke cabinetry was painted in 2 contrasting Farrow & Ball colours, Oxford Stone for the majority, then a feature island in Mouse’s Back. This was all married together beautifully with copious amounts of Calacatta Gold Quartz. The overall scheme resulted in a complete transformation which exceeded all of our clients requirements and more.
Bespoke Features
We designed a bespoke, structural steel framework which acted as the endoskeleton, this enabled us to span the dining table to 2400mm without compromising on strength and form. This framework was then enveloped by mitred Calacatta Gold Quartz with a waterfall end panel creating the overall floating appearance.
We designed a bespoke breakfast pantry with a built in microwave, overflow crockery drawer storage including Nespresso coffee pod & cutlery drawers.
We utilised Hawa Concepta pocket door systems to allow the doors to retract revealing the fully configured bespoke Washer & Dryer unit.
We used Pilkington reeded glass for the dresser cabinets which obscured the internal items but allowed the soft lighting to glow through.
We utilised Phillips hue smart LED strip lighting throughout to enable colour changing lighting from a spectrum of 16 million colours.
