Our Clients were ready to adopt the modern day vision of open plan living, their brief was to combine the kitchen and the dining room to create one open space, which would be linked to the formal lounge, but in time would also be part of a new Orangery extension thus creating one linked open plan space. Our clients had great design vision and knew exactly what they wanted. We were able to work together to provide the perfect design which would work perfectly for them as a family.

Our clients knew they wanted the luxurious In-frame product, so we worked together to design a door which was sympathetic to the Art Deco era. The door itself was solid 21mm Ash and had an Art Deco step detail to the main panel, this provided a modern, unique aspect to their kitchen. Bespoke cabinetry was painted in Paint & Paper Library Barbican No.249 and provided a perfect tranquil, earthy colour palette. The frame aspect to the door adopted an outside chamfer detail with internal cockbead detailing, providing the door with a luxurious aesthetic. This simplistic and minimal design did not clutter the new space but it most certainly created an impact. We created a tall bank of units to house appliances, a central island and a sink run with a subtle pure curved end to lead you into the dining area.

The room was brought to life through the use of a 30mm Square Edged Polar Blanc quartz, simple, bright yet classically beautiful. The white quartz contrasted perfectly with the Barbican cabinetry creating an elegant palette.

Overall we met our clients brief and they were delighted with the result, it transformed the way they used their home, making everyday life much easier and more interactive. Storage was of upmost importance and we worked together in order to plan each individual space which catered to their every needs. The open plan renovation has restored and revived the downstairs footprint ensuring the new kitchen is indeed the heart of their home.

Ergonomic Layout

Our clients main aim was to create a new open plan diverse space which could be used by all the family with ease. Two rooms were combined to create a new kitchen/diner space which was linked through double doors to the formal lounge. In time our clients plan to build an orangery onto the back of their property, which will eventually become part of the kitchen and provide an informal lounge area. We created a simplistic layout which allowed circulation to flow from the lounge, through the kitchen and into the utility by two routes either side of the central island. There were 3 main aspects to this kitchen, the tall bank of units which housed the appliances; a central inland which could be accessed either side for prep and hob cooking and a sink run which housed all the wet elements. The kitchen allows every element to be utilised within a short distance, making the functionality much more apparent to that of the previous design. Our clients are thrilled with the overall outcome and can’t wait to use it for many years to come.
