KITCHEN DESIGN – ILKLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE
Located in the idyllic spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire; surrounded by rolling hills, this striking house stands proud within secluded grounds. Undergoing a recent renovation & extension this Victorian property has been modernised to the highest standard, making everyday living a breeze.

EXCELLENCE IN SPACE
Our clients were keen to re-design the entire open plan kitchen & dining room. Once the space was extended, we were able to create an even larger, more open room, we were then able to work together to bring their vision to life.
In keeping with the nature of the building, the cabinetry had to be sympathetic to the Victorian era, so we wanted to create cabinetry to compliment this.
We chose a traditional In-frame solid ash door with an outside chamfer and an inside cockbead on the frame itself for extra detail.
The cabinetry was then painted in in 3 bespoke Farrow & Ball colours. Tallow No. 203 was chosen for the base and tall cabinetry on the u shape section of the kitchen; next, we chose Matchstick No. 2013 for all the wall units & the separate glassware cabinet down in the dining section. Finally we painted the island & the butler’s pantry in Mouse’s Back No. 40. Subtle colours were used for the cabinetry, to contrast, yet work harmoniously, to create a warm, indulgent feel to room.
All the cabinetry was brought together in the room with warm Noble Cloudy Onyx quartz, beige in colour with deep brown veining. The quartz showcases the Ogee mold, which conveyed a subtle hint back to the traditional aspect and give it that finishing touch.
This design, although sporadic portrays the idea of dedicated sections within the working kitchen, the glassware cupboard is close to dining area for ease at dinner parties. The butler’s pantry is transformed to create a morning breakfast station located in the middle of both the kitchen & the dining area. Every inch of the design was meticulously worked through with our client to create the best use of space they desired.
TESTIMONIAL
“it was our second redesign of our kitchen/eating space, and we knew what we wanted – to a degree! Michael came up with several ideas we hadn’t really considered, and also improved on some of ours. He has an eye for design with his creative background, and he took our want list and turned it into great, practical solutions. My spice drawer with its secret compartment makes me smile every time I open it! Amendments along the way were no issue – this team do not walk away when the kitchen is installed. We would, and have, recommended.”

We devised dedicated sections and assessed their compatibility within the families everyday requirements making sure everything was strategically placed and flowed naturally.
Our overall aim was to create a great space to meet, socialise, cook and most importantly host dinner parties. Storage & organisation was a key priority in this project and we designed and crafted bespoke drawers & spaces along with the client to meet their desired outcome.
