KITCHEN DESIGN – BANSTEAD SURREY
Located in the thriving town of Banstead, Surrey, this beautiful 6 Bedroom Victorian home creates the perfect setting for family living; with ample links to the centre of London; offering an unbeatable balance between city living and retreating to the comforts of the countryside.
EXCELLENCE IN SPACE
Our clients wanted to extend the house, building an elaborate orangery in order to relocate the kitchen into an airy, open plan space which could connect effortlessly to the garden through the large Bi-folding doors. The old kitchen has been transformed into the new dining room, freeing up the old dining room into a 3rd reception room.
We chose beautiful Victorian beaded In-frame Cabinetry, which was painted in bespoke Farrow & Ball colours, Hague Blue No. 30 & Whimborne White No.239. We wanted to create a real statement with this kitchen so created a vast 4M x 2M island that conquers the room, sitting perfectly beneath the lantern. We integrated the everyday dining into the island by creating solid oak bench seating on top of overflow storage cupboards beneath and joining a square glass dining table, ensuring it didn’t distract from the cabinetry but added an elegant texture to the room, giving the island the true wow factor.
We tied all the cabinetry in the room with marbled quartz with a waterfall/Ogee mould. Based on the Italian Statuario Marble. We used it to create some breathtaking features, like the full wall splashback behind the hob, which is beautifully framed by the In-frame cabinetry. We also book matched the worktops on the island so that the veining appears as though it is escaping from the solid Oak butchers block.
This impressive kitchen takes the Traditional in-frame styling and fuses it with clever, well though out design in order to make a fantastic place to cook, eat, play and relax.

30mm Waterfall/Ogee molded marble quartz which we book matched on the island to create the appearance of the veining emerging from the 60mm solid Oak butchers block. We also created a full wall splashback which emphasises the beauty of the marble effect and creates a real focal point within the centre of the Kitchen. We also book matched the splashback behind the sink to maintain the flow of the solid veins.
With this project the family wanted to be able to place where they could come together on a daily basis and converse about their day, maintaining a strong family bond. With this in mind, we integrated casual dining into the kitchen itself, making the two become one and essentially making everyday life easier and much more coherent for the clients.
Our ultimate aim was to make sure they had a space which could be used for all their daily activities, cooking, eating, work & homework and one which could be linked to the outdoors in summer, bringing the kitchen and the garden together creating the perfect adult & child friendly space.
This kitchen is definitely not without a lack of storage space, 17 solid oak dovetail drawer boxes and suitable storage solutions are used throughout, creating suitable uses for each area.
